One year ago, the Middle East changed forever.
The United Arab Emirates took the historic step of recognizing the State of Israel and establishing diplomatic relations under the US-brokered Abraham Accords. Since then, three other Muslim-majority states, Bahrain, Morocco and Sudan, have all joined the UAE in formally opening ties with Israel.
For the first time, Israelis and Arabs have been able to visit each other's countries and the results have been amazing. Friendships, tourism and business relationships across the Middle East have flourished. Following in the footsteps of our shared father Abraham, we have seen how the fruits of peace will always be sweeter than the bitterness of war.
May this year see even more countries in our region join together in this beautiful pact of peace and a brighter future!
