One year ago today was a very difficult one for this generation - Rabbi Jonathan Sacks passed away. With so many issues facing the world I often wonder what guidance Rabbi Sacks would provide and with the tens of thousands of pages that he left behind, there is invariably always a thought that resonates for the moment. One of the foundations of this was his response to the famous Midrash in these parshiyot about ‘the palace in flames.’ It represented more than a moment in history but a historic moment that continues to beckon each and every one of us to respond.
